Feature of ESD
Japan (An example of
ESD10-definition and networking)
1.ESD
aims not only to gain the knowledge but also to raise the
learner’s ability to reflect their values and common senses and
to take the proactive participation.
2.ESD
often takes the experience based and solving approach in the
real life and real local community settings to seek the
governments, NGOs, public institutes, farmers, fishermen,
adults and children – all can be both ESD educators and learners.
3.Mutual
learning is important in ESD. Schools, business entities,
governments, NGOs, public institutes, farmers, fishermen, adults
and children – all can be both ESD educators and learners.
4.The sustainability issues, such as envirorment, poverty, human
rights, peace and development, are complicated so that
comprehensive approach is regarded as important in ESD. |
